I wish I had a boat. . . !

Just went to checkout from the higher bridge where should I go for the birds. It was high tide hence I expected some birds towards the banks. But there I saw a small bet / Island full of birds.

I wish I had a boat as from any point getting a click of these was 300m and I found the bridge itself as the best place.

These pics are Straight out of camera at 300mm 20mpx

Tree I wanted to capture for long

Every time I use to pass this tree there was lot of activities under it. Location Rander side of Causeway. At last I got the chance to click it. Morning of march with blue sky was added advantage.

15 minutes at hand and at 18mm on camera I wished that I had a pit to go even further low.

You can see the background with all tall towers which I wanted to avoid.
Anyways after 8 attempts I got this one.

Coromorants at Surat's Birding Hotspot.

These cormorants were in the middle of the lake at the Surat's very own birding hot spot Gavier Lake. I went with my 2 friends and Mit and the occasion was Great Backyard Bird Count. You can check the bird list of the day here.

Egret getting lazy. . !

I usually do not see Egrets feed on cooked food when people are around. This one started feeding itself once people were away.

Chased a Long Tailed Shrike

It was fun chasing this fellow with my son. After about a kilometer and he pointed us to a good water body. I took about 10 shots at 300mm and one has come well with sparkling eyes.

Repubiic day some candids

These are some candids of people winding up after republic day celebrations at surat.

First trip to Gaviyer Lake Surat

This was the first trip to this birding hotspot. Man I was busy clicking them and still counting 20+ spices in first trip.

Bulbul in Natural Background

I had lot of Birds sitting on the wires and light poles. Birds in natural background gives much better feel in the photograph.

New Year Indian Robin . .

Since yesterday  night the North wind was strong and the morning visibility was gr8. Went for birding just after sunrise and returned by 9:30. Today saw maximum species in a single trip. This one seems to be a lifer.

First Dragonfly

Tamron 70-300 is not the 1:1 macro lens but still it allows you to focus at closure distances when switched to Macro. This is my first Dragon fly with this lens.
